Weekly Drop-In Meditation in Ashburn, Virginia

Drop-In Meditation (This is NOT therapy and is open to the public)
Wednesdays 12- 12:45 $20 each, 10th Visit is FREE
I love to mediate. A friend of mine experienced an unexpected traumatic loss in her life last year. I felt the urge to meditate for her for 45 consecutive days. What I thought was for her, changed my life.
If you haven't meditated before but have been curious, this is your opportunity.
Humans are complicated beings. We have mind, body and spirit. Learning to balance and listen to the needs of each of these parts is absolutely necessary to find peace, harmony and balance both in turbulent times and times of rest. It really doesn’t matter if you are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or if you do not identify with any particular organized religion. All humans are made up of these three parts and each of us has a duty and responsibility to manage them.
What Can I Expect During Wednesday Meditation?
The meditation starts with a guided message or topic to be explored. Examples of topics may include: meditating through the chakras, grounding stressful lingering energy out of the body, learning to use mediation for emotional healing, incorporating the 4 element into meditation, etc The guided portion usually lasts for about 15 minutes. Participants are then encouraged to meditate on their own after this. Time is left for those who want to discuss their experience to do so. Sharing is not an expectation; participants can keep their experiences private if this is desired. A variety of music will be explored as participants learn to appreciate what works best for them. Chairs will be offered. If you prefer to sit on the floor, please bring a cushion for comfort.
Meditation is led by Gabrielle Anderson, owner of the center and licensed therapist. Gabrielle has been an avid student of yoga since the late 90s. Her first experience with meditation was during the shavasana (relaxation) portion of a yoga class. When her family was sick with Lyme disease, Gabrielle used meditation and yoga as a life line. It was during these years that she stumbled upon powerful shamanic journeys during her meditative practice and used these experiences as a means to bring healing and relief to herself and her loved ones. Since then she has had the opportunity to sit in other meditative group venues and loves the experience. Meditating alone can be a beautiful experience, but feeling others' meditative energy and learning about others' experiences in a group setting can be remarkable. Come to clear your mind or learn to use meditation to help heal yourself and others.
All levels are welcome, and no experience is required. This group is for teens and adults.
