Counseling Services for Adults & Teens

Picture
Overview of Teen/Adult Services

At Family Therapy Center of Northern Virginia, we treat the individual in the family as well as the entire unit. Whether you feel as if you yourself are in need of assistance or your entire family, we are here to help. Please read through our areas of expertise and contact us from our bios with any questions you may have.

Individual Therapy

Finding a therapist who cliques with you or a family member is crucial for therapy to work. The therapeutic relationship is important in the process of trust, healing and growth. Individual therapy can help make sense of so many issues. From anxiety and depression to life transitions and adjustments, to chronic illness even trauma, individual therapy can help you get your life back to a recognizable place.

Couples/Family Therapy

When the important relationships in your life are strained and full of conflict (or too cold and distant), regular life becomes that much more challenging. Whether you seek counseling in a dating relationship, for your entire family or within your well established marriage, therapy can help.

During sessions, we will look at established cycles that get in the way of closeness as well as discuss skills to further cultivate better communication. Therapy can help you better understand what is happening to enable you to find the peace and closeness you crave.

Live Virtual & On-Demand Meditation

We know everything you learn in therapy can sometimes feel like a lot. to remember. Meditation allows for the calming skills learned in session to be practiced. Studies show that routine meditation helps with attention/focus, memory AND reduces stress/anxiety. Our meditation is easy to follow and taught by a mental health professional. Each virtual class comes with an emailed recording of the class so you can take it again later!
